Onyebuchi Emmanuel Okekeocha was born in Nigeria to the loving family of Chief Gabriel E. Okekeocha and Theresa O. Moss. From the very beginning, Emmanuel radiated kindness, intelligence, and a deep love for God. Growing up alongside his siblings MacDonald, Adaora, Chinelo, and Victor. He shared a bond of laughter, faith, and affection that remained a cornerstone of his life.
Raised in a home rich with faith and family values, Emmanuel developed the discipline, humility, and trust in God that would shape his character and guide his life’s journey. These qualities became the firm foundation upon which he built his education, career, and service to others.
Emmanuel’s educational path began at Morning Star Nursery School, followed by Command Children’s School Ikeja, Lagos for his primary education. For secondary school, he attended Federal Government College Maiduguriand Immaculate Heart Secondary School, Maryland, before graduating from Command Secondary School Ikeja. He went on to pursue higher education at Nnamdi Azikwe University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Geology. Though trained as a geologist, Emmanuel’s inquisitive mind and passion for problem-solving drew him into the world of information technology, where he discovered his true professional calling.
After moving to the United States, Emmanuel embarked on a distinguished career in information technology, eventually rising to the role of Senior IT Architect. Colleagues admired him for his dedication, wisdom, and integrity. To Emmanuel, his work was more than just a career; it was an opportunity to serve, innovate, and uplift others through leadership and vision.
Yet, Emmanuel’s greatest devotion was not to his career but to his faith and family. Guided by his life motto “God first, family second, friends third” he lived each day with balance, purpose, and love.
He found his life partner in Helwan Okekeocha, with whom he shared a beautiful marriage grounded in faith, respect, and joy. Their union was blessed with two beloved children, Kenechukwu (11) and Keonna (10), who brought immeasurable happiness to his life. Emmanuel cherished his role as a father, finding joy in simple moments like cheering at games, watching movies, and guiding his children in the ways of prayer, integrity, and perseverance.
A man deeply rooted in his faith, Emmanuel was an active member of his church community. He found joy in worship, service, and preaching God’s Word. Always ready with encouragement, he inspired many with his wisdom, compassion, and unwavering faith. His life was a living testimony of God’s love, and he touched countless hearts with his words and his example.
Emmanuel will be remembered as a man of humility, strength, and purpose. A faithful husband, devoted father, cherished son and brother, trusted friend and colleague, and most importantly servant of God. Though his time on earth was far too short, the legacy of his love, faith, and service will live on in the lives of all who were blessed to know him.
