In Loving Memory
Philip W. Fields, 78, of Clarkston, Georgia died on Sunday, July 19, 2026, surrounded by family at home.
He was born on September 15, 1947 in Windom, Minnesota and moved to Florida in 1952 where he grew up in the small town of Wauchula. After graduating with honors from FSU with a Bachelors Degree in Science, he moved to Georgia to work for the Dept of Defense National Guard Division as their Principal Accountant until he retired in 2000. He received the Outstanding Service in State Government Award by Governor Frank Harris in 1985.
Phil was a loving father and husband. He loved deer hunting, archery, gun collecting, reading, gardening, and telling stories. He was a kind soul, a generous neighbor, a loyal friend, and the best Papa in the world to his grandchildren who adored him.
He was preceded in death by his son Brian J. Fields. He is survived by his wife Norma Fields of Clarkston, GA; daughter Suzanne Culpepper and Son-in-law Nickolas Culpepper and granddaughters Galadriel, Anastasia, Fiona, and Liara Culpepper of Reno, NV; Daughter-in-law Rebecca T. Fields and grandchildren Owen, Leland, and Emma Fields of Jefferson, GA.
The family will have a Celebration of Life to be announced at a later date.
