Phyllis Ann Stargent

Phyllis Dunbar, age 65, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. Born on October 26, 1960, in Bradenton, Florida, she was the cherished daughter of Philemon Dunbar and Mary Jones Dunbar.

She was educated in the Manatee County Public School system and proudly graduated from Bayshore High School in Bradenton. In the early 1990s, she moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where she continued to build a meaningful and dedicated career in the medical field, real estate and insurance field. Her work reflected her deep compassion for others and her commitment to helping those in need.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved son Jamaar, and her sister Christina. Though her heart knew deep loss, she carried incredible strength and grace throughout her life.

She leaves behind her devoted husband, Ray, who cared for her with unwavering love. Together, they shared a beautiful bond filled with laughter, companionship, and countless cherished memories, her daughter Montra, whom she shared a strong, reconnection with. Their bond brought healing, joy, and peace, and the love they have will forever stand as a testament to grace and the strength of family. Phyllis also shared a deep and loving closeness with her siblings, nieces and nephews, whose support, laughter, and closeness were a constant source of comfort throughout her life. She also cherished the loving closeness she shared with her sisters, whose support, presence and laughter meant so much to her.

Phyllis was a retired Insurance Adjuster and Agent. To her family, Phyllis was the heart of the home. She was a caring and loving wife, mother, Nana, sister, aunt, and friend. Her generosity was boundless, and her warm spirit touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. Phyllis found joy in the simple pleasures of life—shopping for candles and clothes, traveling, taking cruises, and spending time with the people she loved most. She had a gift for giving—whether it was her time, her kindness, or her gentle encouragement. Her generosity was not measured in grand gestures but in the countless small moments that touched lives and left a lasting imprint on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Phyllis will be deeply missed by all who loved her. Her legacy of love, compassion, and strength will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
