Raymond Bernard Holstein, age 92, husband, father, grand and great grandfather, friend, role model, and hero, died Friday, April 13, 2018. He was married to Rose Mary for 67 years before her passing in 2014. He is survived by daughter, Mary Rae Crawford of Nashville, Tennessee; son, Raymond V. Holstein and daughter-in-law, Lisa of Pendleton, Kentucky; son, Donald Ray Holstein and daughter-in-law, Jeannie of Alpharetta, Georgia; daughter, Mary Ann Bradford and son-in-law, Mark of Loganville, Georgia; brother, William M. Holstein; sister, Lavada Adams; eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Mr. Holstein served in the Airforce in World War II. He was a top turret gunner in a B-17 bomber in the 381st bomb group. He participated in bombing runs over Germany in 1945. He worked 41 years for American Standard as a sales representative and manager. He graduated in 1949 from University of Louisville. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
Funeral Mass is on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Interment will be at 1:00 pm Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Gwinnett Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday, April 16, 2018 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Flowers accepted or in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude’s Research Center or St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
