Richard "Dick" Roy

Richard “Dick” Roy, 77, of Lawrenceville, GA, passed away on Monday, September 25, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur L. Roy and Barbara (Gagnon) Roy, as well as his former wife of 45 years, Sandra H. Roy.

He is survived by his 2 children, Kyla Roy Scoggins (Myke) of Loganville, GA and Ryan Matthew Roy (Keri) of Jasper, Ga. He is also survived by six grandchildren, David C. Roy, Sarah M. Scoggins, Taylor E. Roy, Alex M. Scoggins, Morgan B. Roy, and Sadie G. Roy. He also leaves behind his dear companion, Mable Phillips of Snellville, GA.

Richard was born on September 3,1946 and was raised in Newburyport, MA where he lived until young adulthood. He graduated from Newburyport High School (’65) and later, from the University of Maine (’70) before moving to the SE to pursue employment in first, retail management and then, corporate sales in the tabletop industry (sterling, china, crystal, flatware, holloware.)

Richard enjoyed music, photography, stamp collecting, and golf as hobbies throughout his lifetime. After retirement, he especially enjoyed relaxing in his pool and social time with his friends, both in GA and the New England area. He will be dearly missed by friends and family.
