Richard L. Walker

Richard L. Walker, age 74, died peacefully on Monday January 1st, 2018, at Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Richard is survived by his daughters, Wendy and Kim Walker, both of Snellville; his son Richie Walker, of Winder; and his sister, Brenda Tharp, of Stone Mountain. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda Walker, and his parents, Ernest Troy and Susan Evelyn Walker. Richard was a wonderful Husband, Daddy, and Grandpa, aka “Bubba”. He was lucky enough to marry the love of his life, Linda, in 1965, and together they had three children: Wendy, Kim, and Richie. Through Richie, he was blessed with three amazing grandchildren that were the light of his life: Cody, Lexi, and Nathan Walker. He loved spending time with family, hunting, fishing, and rooting for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, just to be contrary! In later years he and Linda really enjoyed many wonderful trips to the Blue Ridge Mountains, always captivated by the beauty and peace they found there. He will always be remembered for his feisty personality, his quick wit, his inability to meet a stranger, and his willingness to do for others whatever he could, whenever he could. Please join us in celebrating Richard’s life on Sunday, January 7th at Wages & Sons Funeral Home in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Visitation will be from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, with the service at 3:00pm.
