Robbie Faye Betanzos died peacefully on April 8, 2016 at the age of 74. Robbie is survived by her husband Andy, her two children Freddie (Ashley) and Michael (Mikelle), her granddaughter Charlotte and her twin brother James.
Born in Alexander City, AL in 1942, Robbie spent her earlier years in and around Sylacauga, AL. In her late 20s, she moved to Atlanta for a fresh start. She and Andy were married on May 27, 1972.
Robbie was a family-focused "southern girl" who loved all things southern (especially sweet tea and grits). She also loved classic movies and TV (Gone With The Wind/Andy Griffith), horses (Kentucky Derby) and shopping for others. She had a very strong Christian faith that guided her throughout her entire life. Robbie started off her professional life with the local telephone company and then quickly moved to a career in debt collections with various banks and a law firm.
In her later years, she loved retiring to The Villages, FL, and the move was positively transformative in terms of furthering her happiness in her retirement years. She made many very close friends that ultimately became true, unconditional members of the extended family.
