Robert Henry Fetner

Robert Henry Fetner, 91, of Lawrenceville, GA passed away Monday, October 14, 2013. Born in Savannah, GA on Febrary 22, 1922, Bob was a WWII Army veteran who served in the 14th Armored Division under General Patton in the Battle of the Bulge. He earned his PhD in Biology from Emory University in 1955 and was a professor at Georgia Tech for 27 years until his retirement. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Carolyn Guiney Fetner, his daughters, Amber Fetner and Laura Lawton Shiver and their families, his mother-in-law, Mary Guiney, and his sister-in-law and her husband, Jack and Rigby Duncan. A service celebrating his life will be held at Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church on Thursday, October 17, at 3:00 pm and will be officiated by the Rev. Ryan Jensen. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall. The cremated remains will be interred in the columbarium at the church.
