Rosalind Theresa Lowman was born on May 1, 1947 in Columbia, South Carolina to the parent of Evelyn Lowman. Rosalind’s birth father was Rollin Tyson; however she was blessed to call two great men her father Oscar Shaw Jr and George Grover. She was raised by our family Matriarch and her Grandmother Mrs. Minerva “Mary” Lowman. Our Matriarch’s famous saying is “Cry when a baby is born and rejoice when a love one goes to rest with our savior”.
Rosalind was a true child of God and gave praise every moment she could. Her Faith in God was real and unwavering and this was evident in everything she did in life. She became a member of Amazing Grace Christian Community Church on July 30, 2011 (presided over by the Honorable Pastor Calvin Bolton). Prior to this she was a member of Christ the King Baptist Church in Dacula. At Amazing Grace Rosalind was a member of the Dance Praise Team and Usher Board. She was a good and faithful servant for the Lord and the church. Rosalind in her younger years worked in Nursing Homes and Facilities providing care for Senior Citizens along with the sick and shut-in. Rosalind came to Georgia in 1998 to be with her son and his family because her heart was always with family. She was soon followed by her daughter to Georgia. She spent time helping to raise her 4 grandchildren and also supported great programs for NAA, Jerusalem House, AIDS Atlanta and AIDS Gwinnett. She used her amazing skills in crafting to help all the programs she supported. Rosalind was the embodiment of the word selflessness. She would give you the shirt off her back to make sure you were safe and comfortable. She was Grandma to all children and Sister to all adults. She would never leave a person without letting them know she loved and cared for them and it was sincerely from the heart. One of her favorite comments to her children was “I discipline you with love”. That held true to the end; she loved you unconditionally but she was always real and honest with you.
Rosalind is survived by two Aunts Mrs. Willie Mae McKinnon and Mrs. Alice Mack; four brothers George Anthony Grover, Michael Grover, Jerome Grover, and Stephen Grover; three sisters Janette Shaw-Deneal, Lillian Shaw-McLaurin, and Diane Grover; a host of nieces and nephews; two children Julian McKinley Bradford III (Sharon), Detris Michelle Bradford-White; four grandchildren Justin Bradford, Kobe Goodwin, Jacob Bradford and Joshua Bradford; and a host of cousins from the Murphy, Shaw, Leflore, Mack, Grover, and Bradford Families; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
