Rose Wituka Mulunda, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away on December 8, 2024, as a resident of Georgia, at the age of 55. Born in Kenya on May 27, 1969, Rose lived a life full of love, purpose, and devotion to her family, faith, and community.

Rose’s academic achievements reflected her unwavering dedication to learning and service. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Georgia State University, a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from Beulah Heights University, and an Associate Degree in Nursing from DeKalb Community College. Rose served her community as a Registered Nurse and nurse educator, combining her expert medical skills with unparalleled compassion to provide care and support to patients and their families.

Rose was an active member of the Abaluhya Networking Group and contributed her time and talents to organizations such as the Atlanta Community Food Bank, Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless, Medical Missions Outreach, and the Children’s Ministry at her church. She was deeply devoted to God and her faith, serving as a guiding light to all who knew her.

Rose’s interests reflected her vibrant spirit and love of life. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, traveling, dancing, volunteering, teaching, walking, and painting. She was a self-proclaimed foodie and a bibliophile, embracing both culinary and literary adventures. A world traveler with a deep curiosity about cultures and experiences, Rose’s global perspective enriched her storytelling, a gift she inherited from her father.

Known for her warmth, joy, and selflessness, Rose left a profound and lasting impact on everyone she encountered. She was a nurturer, a compassionate caregiver, and an advocate for those in need. Rose made her family feel inspired, uplifted, and loved, teaching them to live with intention, embrace life’s small moments, and rely on the power of prayer. Her laughter, joy, and devotion to God created a sense of safety, support, and love for everyone around her.

Rose is survived by her loving husband, Francis Mulunda; her children, Jacob Mulunda and Chelsea Mulunda; her parents, Jacob and Abigail Wituka; her sister, Lucy Wituka; her brothers, Eric Wituka and Joel Wituka; as well as many uncles, aunties, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and cherished friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Wages and Sons Gwinnett Chapel, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy, Lawrenceville, GA 30046, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The family invites all attendees to join them for a repast immediately following the service.
