Rosemarie (Rose) Socha, 85, of Lilburn, GA, formerly of New York, passed away Friday, April 14, 2023. She was preceded in death by her adoring husband of 45 years, Joseph (Joe) Socha; parents, Joseph and Angie Corda; sister, Anita DeSimone, and brother, Joseph Corda.
Rose and her husband, Joe, moved to Georgia in 1980, with their triplet boys, Joseph, Michael, and Richard, where they established their new home.
The essence of Rose can be captured in two words, family and home. She had many gifts that made her one-of-a-kind, the most notable was her role as the matriarch. Rose’s dedication to her loved ones was unmatched. She was a devoted wife and an attentive mother and grandmother who, by all accounts, was the centerpiece of family life. Her home was a place where the door was always open, love abounded, and all who entered were welcomed with open arms. Countless gatherings, celebrations and holidays took place at her home over the years, and Rose was the consummate hostess.
On most days, Rose could be found in her kitchen where her passion for cooking and baking came to life. Her self-taught culinary skills meant she always had on hand a delicious meal or dessert to enjoy. Rose took immense pride in making food from scratch—cream puffs and manicotti were top-tier favorites.
Social in nature and a great conversationalist, Rose forged close bonds with her family, friends, and neighbors, and rarely missed a chance to be in the company of others. This included church activities at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church, where she was an active and supportive member, as well as get-togethers with her JuicePlus+ community, people with whom she shared likeminded ideas on nutrition and health.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons and daughter-in-law, Joseph & Tara Socha of New Hyde Park, New York, Michael Socha, Richard Socha, of Lilburn, GA; grandchildren, Delaney Socha, Emma Socha, of Atlanta, GA, Danny Socha, Tommy Socha, of New Hyde Park, New York; numerous nieces and nephews; and countless friends.
A Funeral Mass for Rose will be held Wednesday, April 19, 2023, 11:00 A.M., at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church, 5373 Wydella Road SW, in Lilburn, with FR Brian Lorei officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to unbound.org , or shriners.org .
