Ruth M. Foster

(Known lovingly as Ruthie and Granny)

Ruth M. Foster, age 89, of Stone Mountain, Georgia, passed away surrounded by love. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph M. Foster, with whom she shared a devoted marriage of over 50 years.

Ruth was the heart of her family and a “Granny” not only by name, but by spirit. She is survived by her children: daughter Kathy Andrews; son Ralph “Hotdog” Foster Jr.; and daughter Kay Royds (John). She leaves behind grandchildren Gryffen Andrews, Konnor Andrews, Chesney Royds, Janey Royds, and Jonathan Royds, as well as her treasured great-grandson, AJ Andrews.

Granny’s love extended far beyond her immediate family. She had countless honorary children and grandchildren whom she helped raise and loved as her own, welcoming everyone into her life with open arms and an open heart.

For the past 18 years, Ruth volunteered at LBC Preschool as the resident Granny, where she touched generations of children with her warmth, patience, and gentle kindness. She was deeply loved by all who knew her, and her presence brought comfort, joy, and a sense of home wherever she went.

Ruth will be remembered for her boundless love, her giving spirit, and the way she made everyone feel special. She will be missed more than words can say, but her legacy of love will live on in the many lives she touched.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wellroot Family Services @ Wellroot.org in her memory.

“Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.”
