Sarah Foss

Sally Foss of Grayson Georgia, formerly of Pittsfield MA, passed away March 14th, 2010. Sally made her home for the past seven year with her daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Jim Rennie . Born in Pittsfield, MA on January 12, 1917, she was the daughter of Denis T. and Ada B. Noonan. She was the fifth of six Noonan children and leaves one sister, Ada Engelmannwho resides in South Carolina. Sally was a graduate of Pittsfield High School and the Connecticut College for Women in New London CT. The caption by her college yearbook photo describes her perfectly: "An outward reticence-Sally hides a mischievous and fun loving nature, a clever independence and an analytical mind".She graduated with a degree in Psychology which she often said came in very handy over the years. Those who knew her often marveled at her wit and wisdom. Sally was predeceased by her husband of 60 years; Henry J. Foss Jr. She leaves four children, Josh of Draper, Utah, Peter of Charlotte, NC, Ed of Clearwater, FL and Pam of Grayson, GA. As well as, Sixteen Grandchildren and sixteen Great Grandchildren. There will be a memorial service on June 19, 2010 , in Pittsfield, MA at the First Church of Christ Congregational where she was a deaconess. Sally was an avid golfer and a strong supporter of Junior golf In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the United States Golf Association USGA in Far Hills NJ.
