Sarah Virginia White

Sarah Virginia White, née Smith, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2020 at the age of 92.

She was born on March 18, 1928 to Hiram Plumer and Etta Minor in Stone Mountain, Georgia where she grew up. She married Willis Rogers White, also of Stone Mountain. She raised three children and ran a household on a shoestring budget, but no one ever went without.

Her hobbies and talents included cooking and quilt-making. She enjoyed making quilts as gifts for baby showers, birthdays and Christmas.And she could cook a fantastic Southern meal like nobody’s business. Her biscuits were the best, bar none.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Willis Rogers White, and her oldest son, Jack Logan White. She leaves behind a daughter, Penny Jacqueline White, and a son, Willis Russell White and his wife, Laura. Daughter, Penny was her full-time caregiver for several years. She lived long enough to see the birth of two grandsons and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. In addition, she is survived by 8 furbabies.

An intimate graveside service was held on Monday, September 21 at 3 p.m. at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens in Snellville, Georgia. Memorials may be made to the Dementia Society of America or donor’s choice.
