Gregory Scott Dale June 6, 1969 – March 15, 2026
Gregory Scott Dale, beloved by all who knew him as "Bubba," passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026. He was 56 years old. Born on June 6, 1969, in Decatur, Georgia, Scott made his home in Stone Mountain, Georgia, where he lived a life that left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was truly one of a kind.
Scott attended Stone Mountain High School before answering the call to serve his country as a loadmaster on a C130 cargo plane in the United States Air Force — a chapter of his life he carried with enormous pride. Scott loved his country deeply, and his military service was a reflection of that devotion, a commitment he held close to his heart for the rest of his life.
After his service, he built an exceptional career with Aflac, rising to the level of District Sales Coordinator. Scott was a standout in his field, earning numerous regional and state awards throughout his tenure and earning membership in the prestigious Million Dollar Rolex Club — a testament to his dedication, talent, and the trust he built with the people he served.
Above all else, Scott was known for his genuineness. He cared deeply about his close friends and had a rare gift for making the people around him feel truly valued. Those who were lucky enough to be in his inner circle knew they had a loyal and steadfast friend for life.
Music was more than a hobby to Scott — it was a window into his soul. He was deeply passionate about music in a way that opened his heart like little else could. Only his closest friends were ever lucky enough to hear him sing, and in those moments, the softer side of Bubba came shining through — revealing the gentle teddy bear that lived beneath the surface. It was a gift he shared only with those he truly trusted, making it all the more special to those who witnessed it. Speaking of teddy bear, Scott had his best friends not to mention the name but his true best friend was his beloved 4-legged friend Taullaha Mae Moser…every chance he got she was always by his side.
A man of many passions, Scott also loved fishing, golf, hunting, rooting for the Georgia Bulldogs, and diving into a good history book. He was a proud member of South Land Country Club, where he enjoyed time with friends on and off the course. And if you knew Bubba, you knew one more thing for certain — Bubba liked to eat!
Scott was a Baptist by faith and a devoted family man at heart.
He is survived by his father, Delbert Dale; his mother, Joyce Dale; his brother, Geoff Dale; his nephew, Daulton Dale; his niece, Macy Dale-Markum; and Josiah Markum. He also had beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.
