Sisk Dudley Corey

Dudley Corey Sisk died September 27 at his home in Cornelia, Ga. His mother, Lynn Stiles Sisk, predeceased him. Corey is survived by his father and stepmother, Dudley B. Sisk and Barbara Luhn of Clarkesville, GA; a sister and brother-in-law, Leslie S. and Wolfgang Enneker of Buford, GA; and aunts and uncles, Annabel S. and Charles Girard of Danville, KY; Priscilla Stiles of Pritchard, AL; and Gerry Stiles of Mobile, AL. He was born Sept. 23, 1965, in Lafayette, Ind. He attended Tift County High School and graduated from Tiftarea Academy, Tifton, Ga. Corey played football and softball at both schools. He also attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, Tifton. Corey received his bachelor's degree in physical education from Eastern Kentucky University, Richmond, KY, where he was on the cheerleading squad. After college, he served in the U.S. Army as a member of the 82nd Airborne and in the Honor Guard at Arlington National Cemetery. He studied Fine Arts at the University of Kentucky and was an artist and a caricaturist. An avid outdoorsman, he especially enjoyed hiking and camping in Kentucky's Red River Gorge and the mountains of North Carolina and Georgia. He was a beekeeper, gardener and cook, noted for his primo fire-building and pork-smoking skills. He also was the family's official checker-upper-on-the-old-folks. A service celebrating Corey's life is planned for early November in the Clarkesville, GA, area.
