Terry Dean Bartley, 53, died March 14, 2012 in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
He was born October 20, 1958 in Plainville, KS to Bill and Lorraine
Stevens Bartley. Terry graduated from Superior High School in 1977
and entered into the United States Army. While serving in the army,
he met and married his wife Chong of over 33 years at his first duty
station, earned his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from
the University of Maryland , and retired after 20 years. Terry and
his wife then settled in Lawrenceville, Georgia where he was employed
by New Flyer of America as a training instructor up until the time of
his death, 13 years.
His interests included travelling overseas while serving in the
military, do it yourself home improvement projects, and doting on his
two shi tzhus. Terry enjoyed life to the fullest and touched the
lives of so many family members and friends.
He is survived by his wife Chong Bartley; his daughter and spouse
Damie and Dean Allison of Fishers, IN; his son William Bartley of
Seoul, Korea; his brother and spouse, Timothy and Melanie Bartley of
Smith Center, KS; Sister Arlene Stone of Hastings, NE; sister and
spouse Marlyce and Paul Gordier of Elm Creek, NE, and his parents Bill
and Lorraine Bartley of Smith Center, KS. Terry is also survived his
two granddaughters whom he loved and adored Ava and Heidi Allison. He
also leaves many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins who were
all touched by his warm loving nature. He will be truly missed by so
many, and remembered with the fondest of memories.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 16, 2012 at Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel with Pastor Dean Oliver officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 PM. Interment will be at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. The family has asked that any donations in Terry's honor be sent to Saint Jude's Children's hospital.
