Thomas Ewell Dautch

July 1, 1965 — August 17, 2013

Thomas Ewell Dautch, 48 Yitzchak Yisroel ben Shmuel On the evening of August 17th, 2014 Thomas "Tom" Dautch passed away at Gwinnett Medical Center. Tom was 48 years old. Tom was born on the 1st of July, 1965 to Dr. Samuel and Carol Dautch. Tom and his parents maintained a beautiful and joyous relationship. Those close to their small, but blissful, family will remember them as a joyous and warm trio. Tom enjoyed countless trips with his parents, constantly maintaining and strengthening a euphoric and adventurous bond that was seen by all. Though they have lost their son, the Dautch's have gained an entire family who love them dearly. A dignified alumnus of Auburn University, Tom spent his collegiate career studying music alongside countless friends in the Auburn University Marching Band. As a drummer, Tom and the rest of the drums corps provided the soundtrack for some of the greatest wins in the storied history of the "Loveliest Village on the Plains". Tom often delighted his friends and family with his proficiency in the kitchen, which brought his family together time and time. Tom worked diligently as an employee at Quad Graphics for over 20 years. Tom enjoyed his work greatly, and was always thankful for his position within a company that allowed him to take care of the things he treasured most of all, his family and friends. Tom will best be remembered for his insatiable zest for life paired with a radiating energy of love and kindness that was felt by every single person he met. Tom positively impacted countless lives, and the world will be a little less bright without his smiling disposition. Tom was the proud father of Lawrenceville natives Joshua and Jessica Johns. Because of Tom's steadfast and uncompromising love and support both Joshua and Jessica have been able to achieve their dreams in life. Both Jessica and Josh dearly loved their father, who came into their lives when he married their mother, Laura Johns, on March 4th, 2006. Tom did not only gain two children that day, but several nieces and nephews as well. Tom was a guiding and loving presence in their lives and was especially important in helping form the lives of his youngest niece and nephews, Hannah, William, and Zachary Johns who all loved their uncle dearly. Of all these things, none were more important to Tom than the love of his life Laura Johns. Tom dedicated his life to making Laura happy, the outcome of which provided her and her children with the best years of their lives. Their marriage serves as an example of a pure and unselfish love, which even his untimely death cannot break. Laura's family adores Tom and his beloved parents, and Tom's presence in all of their lives was nothing short of a blessing, one that will not be soon forgotten.
