Troy Lovell Baker, Sr., age 84, passed away peacefully at his home in Conyers, GA on Friday, November 18, 2022.
Troy was born to the late Hobert and Ruby Baker in Bryant, Alabama on February 21, 1938. He was the 6th of 7 children.
He was married to Sara Virginia Baker for 53 years until her death in 2010. Together they had 5 children.
He is preceded in death by his son, Bryan Baker and his daughter, Shelley Baker.
He is survived by his children Rodney (Carol) Baker, Jodie (Sabas) Ledezma, and Troy Lovell (Deanne) Baker, Jr. and daughter-in-law Pamula Blackwell Baker.
He was blessed and is Pawpaw to 17 grand children and 21 great-grand children.
He was a truck driver at O’Neal Steel for 30 years and then drove for Winn-Dixie until his retirement.
We will miss his kind spirit and sense of humor. He always wore a brass hand belt buckle “holding up his pants” and that became one of his trademarks. He loved to make people laugh. He always had a joke or riddle for you. We like to call them “Baker Jokes”.
Troy was known to write or etch his name on everything he owned and we can take peace in knowing that Troy made sure that his name was etched in God’s book of life.
