Tyler, a native Georgian, grew up in Cherokee County. Upon graduation from Sequoyah High School, Tyler attended Virginia Military Institute on a football scholarship. After graduating, he moved to Atlanta for a short period before moving to Miami where he worked in sales for Custom Chemical Corporation.
Tyler was an accomplished athlete. He loved and excelled at football from a young age, setting school records, and was inducted into the Cherokee County Sports Hall of Fame. At VMI, Tyler survived the Rat Line, and as a senior, was voted to serve in the RDC (Rat Discipline Committee) and invited into the Kappa Alpha Order. Tyler enjoyed and excelled at coaching and spent summers as a volunteer football coach.
Upon moving to Miami, Tyler enjoyed promoting Miami Club Rum, through which he quickly extended his long list of wonderful friends. His legions of friends and his family appreciated his quick wit, raucous sense of humor, his loyalty, generosity, and sense of purpose. Tyler traveled often, fascinated by the world in which he lived.
Tyler is survived by mother, Kathryn C.
