Vanukumar Ambalal Patel

Vanukumar Ambalal Patel, 96, of Bidaj, India passed away peacefully on August 24, 2020 in Atlanta, GA.

Due to Covid-19, no visitation will be received by the family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on August 25th, 2020 at Wages and Sons Funeral Home.

Vanukumar was born in Bidaj to Ambalal Babarbhai and Hariben Patel on August 5th, 1924. He went to grade school in Dharmaj, India and continued his education in Ahmedabad, India by completing his degree in Bachelor of Commerce in 1946. Vanukumar went on to work for the British Government for 18 years in the department of treasury until 1963 when Tanzania gained their independence. He married Kusum Patel on May 3rd, 1947 in Bhadran, India and had four children, Devyani Patel, Pankaj Patel, Rohini Patel and Bansari Desai.

Vanukumar is survived by sister Shantaben Patel and brother, Ghanshyambhai Patel. In addition, he is survived by his four children along with their 4 spouses, his 10 grandchildren and 11 ½ great-grandchildren.

Vanukumar truly will be missed for his full set of hair, genuine smile, sense of humor, and loving personality.
