Vera Jeanette Lockaby Betts

Vera Jeanette Lockaby Betts went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 16, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hovie and Anna Loveland Lockaby; her sister, Emma Lou Bayne; and her two brothers, John and Harrison Lockaby. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Betts Reeves, and grandson, Robert Laws Reeves, III, of Atlanta; and several nieces and nephews in South Carolina. A devout Christian, Vera cherished her church family at Scott Boulevard Baptist Church in Decatur. Her life was enriched by her relationships with friends and neighbors in the Condominium of Avondale Estates. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Rutland Chapel, Decatur First Baptist Church, 308 Clairemont Avenue, Decatur, GA 30030 with the Reverend Greg Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to Scott Boulevard Baptist Church or Autism Speaks are sincerely appreciated.
