Verna Sue Hesse

Verna Sue Hesse, age 93 of Stone Mountain, took her heavenly flight on Christmas Day, December 25th of 2025. Verna was born in Arkansas on Friday, January 29th, of 1932. She was the daughter of the late Vernie and Fannie Clancey Whitehead. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles B. Hesse and son Cary Hesse.

She was a caring homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She once bowled at the Senior Olympics. Verna loved dancing, fishing, trips to the beach, and supporting the Arkansas Razorbacks football team. She is survived by her daughter Debra Sue Hesse of Marietta, sister Betty Jo Hale of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and seven grandchildren. 

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:30pm on Tuesday, December 30th at the Wages and Sons Funeral Home Stone Mountain Chapel with Dr. Dan Parker officiating. Entombment will follow at 4:00pm at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Tucker, Ga.
