Vickie Hendrix Lee

May 1, 1950 — January 21, 2026

Vickie Hendrix Lee loved fiercely and stood as a protective force over her family. A steady support system and a constant source of strength, she lived proudly and loved loudly. Few things brought her more joy than showing off her family, and she did so every chance she got.

Born in Statesboro, and raised in Savannah, Georgia, she was a Southern Belle to the core. She never met a stranger, and before you knew it, you felt like family. Her laugh was contagious-you could hear it across a room-and her joyful energy had a way of lifting everyone around her.

She became “Mema” at 37 years old, a title she was truly made for. She shared an especially close bond with her grandson for many years, someone who looked up to her as a true superhero. Being a Mema was one of her greatest joys, and she wore that role with pride and purpose.

She had a deep love for horses, serving as a rodeo queen in her younger years-a title she carried proudly. Later in life, she passed that same passion along to one of her granddaughters, creating memories that will be cherished forever. She also found great joy in coaching her granddaughters in softball, affectionately known as “Coach Mema,” a role she loved and made sure everyone knew meant the world to her. Never one to miss a moment that mattered, she also took great pride in attending her grandsons wrestling matches, cheering him on with the same fierce love and devotion she gave to all her family. She truly did it all.

She had a heart for caring-whether for people, animals, or plants. Blessed with a green thumb she likely inherited from Imogene-who raised her as a single mother. Vickie had a special gift for helping everything around her grow and flourish. She made living life look easy, and had a way of reminding others what truly mattered.

She gave the very best hugs, loved a good back scratch, and could often be found enjoying music and dancing. A devoted fan, she cheered loudly for her teams, never missing a chance to shout “GO DAWGS!” or “GO BRAVES!”-with her whole heart.

She is survived by her loving husband of almost 60 wonderful years, Terry Lee; her three daughters, Cindy (Caleb) Nolley, Dana (Rick) Shores, and Hope (Mike) Coan; and her siblings, Ronnie (Wanda), Connie, and Jan (Bobby). She also leaves behind seven grandchildren-Trey, Hunter, Autumn, Madison, Rick, Grace, and Karlee-and three great-grandchildren with bright futures ahead, all of whom she adored beyond measure.

Though her family will miss her deeply, they are forever grateful for a life so well lived and a love so freely given. Her laughter, warmth, and fierce devotion will continue to live on in the hearts and lives of all who were blessed to know her.
