Vicki Lynn Scott Tharp, age 80, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025, in Georgia. She was born on December 28, 1944, in Borden, Indiana, to the late Victor M. Scott and Edna E. Daugherty Allen.
Vicki attended New Albany High School and went on to live a life defined by love, service, and creativity. She served as a volunteer with the Army Corps of Engineers and S.A.F.E Thrift Store, always giving her time and heart to causes greater than herself. Over the years, she worked as an executive assistant, cake artist, and homemaker, pouring passion and care into everything she did.
She was a gifted cake artist, a talented seamstress, and an avid crafter who loved sewing, cooking, and camping. Beyond her many skills, Vicki was known for her deep compassion and generous spirit. A true humanitarian, she embodied patience, kindness, and mercy. She was a peacekeeper, a caregiver, and a servant to anyone in need. She believed in living a life of service and demonstrated unconditional love to her family, friends, community, and the many animals she rescued and cherished.
To those who knew her best, Vicki was a queen—a long-suffering daughter, mother, wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was wise, tender, and merciful, a source of strength and love for her family.
Vicki is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, John “Sonny” Allen; her grandson, Daniel Naiman; and her beloved husband, Millard T. “Tommy” Tharp.
She is survived by her daughters, Dana M. Glass (Randy), Beth Ann Henry Hanson (Mark), Wendy Logsdon Naiman (Kerry Oliver), and Deanne Logsdon Mory (Richard); grandchildren Travis Shireman, Brandi Gaines (Zachary), Joelie Hernandez (Lucas), Kris Hattabaugh, Emily Camenisch (Chris), Zachary Richardson (Lauren), Krysten Naiman, Miranda Mory Smith (James), Jessica Mory, and Elizabeth Mory; as well as 22 great-grandchildren who were her pride and joy.
A memorial service will be held at a later date, and she will be interred with her Father at Chapel Hill Church in Borden, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to your local humane society.
