HEFFNER, Virginia “Ginny” Stum
Virginia “Ginny” Heffner (age 88) of Snellville, GA, has passed from this earthly realm to be with the Heavenly Father on March 9, 2024. She was born May 21, 1935, in Carlisle, PA to the late Russell and Faye Stum. Ginny is survived by her husband, Gus, whom she had shared 69 years of marriage; her 3 daughters, Julie (Mike) Morrow, Wendy (Doug) King, and Donna Patterson (Jeff Burch); 8 grandchildren: David (Nigisti) Rath, Holly (Pritan) Patel, Wesley (Kaylee) Rath, Meghan King, Scott (Chelsea) King, Nick Patterson, Paige (Michael) Washington, and Ty Patterson; along with 10 great grandchildren: Grace, Jacob, Daniel, Emma, Eva, Devin, Sydney, Raylee, Jaycee, and Sadie. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara (Rick) Hyatt, and brother Richard (Faurest) Stum.
Ginny met her husband, Gus, at Camp Gordon in Augusta GA where she worked as a civil service employee and he was a young sergeant in the Army. Ginny and Gus have been faithful members of Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church for 42 years. She was always available to help those in need whether it be family, friends, or those in their local community. For those that knew her well, they were certainly fortunate to have enjoyed one of her famous home-made pies.
Ginny’s memorial service will be held on March 21 at 2pm at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, 1400 Killian Hill Rd, Lilburn, GA.
A reception will follow in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
