We are heartbroken to share the unexpected passing of our cherished and irreplaceable mother, Virginia “Ginger” Barbara Randolph, who peacefully left this world on February 8, 2025. She was 82 years young, having lived a life filled with love, adventure, resolute strength and loyalty to family.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, Ginger moved to Georgia as a teenager and attended Avondale High School. Shortly after graduation, she married and embraced her greatest calling—motherhood. Her daughters, Theresa “Tere” Morris and Lisa Johnson, were the heart of her world, and everything she did was driven by her deep love and devotion to them. As a single mother, she faced life’s challenges with strength and determination, carving out a successful career at Plymart, a local building supplier, where she ultimately retired as general sales manager.
After her daughters were grown, Ginger remarried and made a home in Avondale Estates, Georgia, where she became a loving stepmother to Hank and Shawn Randolph. She nurtured them through childhood, celebrated their milestones, and watched with pride as they pursued their dreams.
Ginger was a woman of boundless energy and spirit. She found joy in reading, gardening, playing tennis, and cards with friends, and even led aerobic fitness classes at the CDC in Atlanta. No matter where life took her —whether thriving in her Georgia community or embracing adventure during her decade in Venice, California—she lived with zest and purpose, always guided by her strong Christian faith.
A true friend and confidante, Ginger believed deeply in kindness, compassion, and the power of listening. She celebrated victories, offered support during life’s challenges, and left an imprint of warmth on every heart she touched. Her smile and generosity cultivated lifelong friendships that will endure beyond her passing.
She faced life’s twists and turns with grace, and strived to lead by example. As she often said, “How we handle ourselves during adversity defines our character.” Her legacy is one of resilience, love, and unwavering encouragement for those she held dear.
Above all, her greatest joy was her family. She loved fiercely and unconditionally, always offering wisdom and unwavering support. She took immense pride in the achievements of her daughters and was their biggest inspiration. Ginger also shared in their passion for dog rescue, supporting their tireless mission of advocating for shelter dogs through Ruff Dog Rescue NE & GA.
It brings her daughters peace knowing their mother is now at rest, cradled in God’s eternal loving arms, reunited with her cherished four-legged companion, Cali, and her dearest friend, Carolyn Morris.
Ginger was preceded in death by her parents, George Beyers and Esther Harris. She is survived by her daughters, Tere Morris and Lisa Johnson, who remained the light of her life until her last breath, as well as her sisters, Bonnie Blanchard, Mary Louise Zeller, and Patti Evans.
In honor of Ginger’s wishes, a private family ceremony will be held. In lieu of flowers, should the spirit move you to honor Ginger’s memory, donations may be made to RuffDogRescue.org and RDRNE.org, a tribute to her love for animals and the mission her daughters have devoted their lives to.
Though life without her leaves an emptiness that cannot be filled, we find comfort in knowing that a mother’s love is eternal—it lives on in the hearts she touched, the lives she shaped, and the memories we cherish forever.
Proverbs 31:31 “Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.”
