Waldo Richard Marsh, a beloved educator and devoted family man, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2026, in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Born on September 10, 1942, in Illinois, Waldo’s life was marked by a deep commitment to learning and teaching, as well as a profound love for his family.
Waldo’s educational journey began at West Senior High School in Aurora, Illinois, from which he graduated on June 6, 1960. He then pursued higher education passionately, earning a Bachelor of Science in Education from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb on June 6, 1964. Always seeking to deepen his knowledge and enhance his teaching skills, Waldo furthered his education by obtaining a master’s degree in Music Education from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, on January 26, 1969.
Throughout his career, Waldo imparted wisdom and inspiration to countless students, leaving an indelible impact on the communities he served. His dedication to education was only rivaled by his devotion to his family, whom he cherished deeply.
Waldo is survived by his loving four children and six grandchildren, who carry forward his legacy with pride and affection. His memory will remain a guiding light for all who knew him, embodying kindness, perseverance, and a lifelong pursuit of knowledge.
Friends and family will gather to honor Waldo’s life and legacy with a graveside service on May 8, 2026. The service will begin at 12:00 PM and conclude at 12:30 PM at Melwood Cemetery, located at 5170 East Ponce de Leon Avenue, Stone Mountain, Georgia, 30083.
As we bid farewell to Waldo Richard Marsh, we remember a man whose contributions to education and whose love for family enriched the lives of many. His presence will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
