Walter Edward "Eddie" Brown

October 24, 1958 — March 21, 2024

Walter Edward Brown, affectionately known as Eddie, was born on October 24, 1958, in Atlanta, Georgia, to mother, Bettye Jo Casey Brown, and dad, Edward Leland Brown. He peacefully passed away at home on March 21, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories.

Eddie dedicated much of his life to serving as a Fleet Manager for Marta, where he worked tirelessly until his retirement in July 2019. A proud graduate of Central Gwinnett High School in Lawrenceville, GA, Eddie’s commitment to his work and his community left a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

A true Georgia sports enthusiast, Eddie’s heart belonged to the Braves baseball team and the Georgia Bulldogs. He found solace and joy in gardening, grilling, and spending time outdoors. Eddie’s love for music and his passion for history made him a well-rounded individual with a deep appreciation for the world around him.

Above all else, Eddie was known for his selflessness, humility, and willingness to lend a helping hand to friends and family in need. He had a unique ability to make everyone feel special, loved, and important in the world. His gentle spirit, coupled with his deep thoughtfulness, made him a beloved figure in the lives of those he touched.

Eddie’s memory will forever be cherished by his loving wife, Renee Brown; his daughter, Casey Bray (Brett), and his adoring grandchildren, Lawson, Lane, and Langston Bray. He is also survived by his sisters, Jackie Earwood and Caroline Useman, as well as many nieces and nephews whom he adored. A visitation to celebrate Eddie’s life will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Wages and Sons Gwinnett Chapel, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy., Lawrenceville, GA, 30046. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 29, 2024, at the same location.
