William Arthur "Bill" Mcever, Jr.

July 7, 1933 — April 9, 2025

William Arthur “Bill” McEver, Jr., of Sharpsburg, Georgia, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on July 7, 1933, in Monroe, Georgia, Bill was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and friend to many.

A graduate of Monroe High School, Class of 1950, Bill went on to build a successful career in insurance sales. His outgoing nature, warm spirit, and unmistakable sense of humor made him beloved by clients and colleagues alike. Bill had a gift for putting others at ease, often using his signature corny jokes to bring a smile to those around him.

At the heart of Bill’s life was his faith. A lifelong Baptist, he was actively involved in his church community and had a deep desire to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with others. His faith gave him a steady foundation and a compassionate heart, always ready to serve and uplift.

Bill found his greatest joy in time spent with his family—especially with his beloved wife, Sylvia Hall McEver, with whom he shared an amazing 63 years of marriage, love, and laughter until her passing in August of 2023. Together, they created a home filled with warmth, music (especially his favorite southern gospel), and unwavering support for those they loved.

He is preceded in death by Sylvia, the love of his life. He is survived by his son, Michael (Mike) Eric McEver, and daughter-in-law, Paige Lynn McEver, both of Peachtree City, Georgia, as well as his three cherished grandchildren. His legacy of kindness, humor, and faith lives on in each of them.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Wages and Sons Gwinnett Chapel, with a celebration of life service to follow at 2:00 PM. A private burial will take place at Floral Hills Memorial Garden in Tucker, Georgia.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Samaritan’s Purse in memory of Bill McEver, honoring his generous heart and dedication to sharing the love of Jesus with others.

Though deeply missed, Bill’s family finds comfort in knowing he is now whole again, reunited with Sylvia, and in the presence of his Savior.
