William "Billy" "Bird" Lee

William “Billy” “Bird” Lee, age 83 of Bogart, GA formerly of Stone Mountain, GA passed away Monday May 10th.

He was preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Evelyn Lee. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Helen Mitchell Lee, son Chuck (Sheila) Lee of Farmington, GA, daughters Laurie (Mike) Cann of Stone Mountain, GA, Linda (Eric) Godfrey of Lawrenceville, GA and Lisa (Stuart) Newton of Statham, GA. Sisters JoAn(Jeff) Shubert, and Frances Harding, both of Monticello, GA, Sue King of Jefferson, GA, brothers, Donnie (Dawn) Lee of Mansfield, GA, Jimmy (Pat) Lee and Danny (Caren) Lee of Snellville, GA, Mike (Jean) Lee of Monroe, GA and Ted (Amy) Lee of Monticello, GA, 8 grandchildren Jason (Ivy) Cann, Bethany (Will) Ross, Brandon Cann, Brent (Brittany) Godfrey, Alesha (Jake) Crane, Ashley Kirk, Colby (Jennifer) Newton, and Drake (Moira) Newton. 14 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He served 2 years in the Army at Fort Jackson, SC and Fort Lewis, WA and was employed by Western Electric for 30 years. After retirement he became a telephone consultant for NDC. Billy/Daddy/PaPa spent much of his retirement creating memories with his family at the cabin he and Helen built on Lake Blue Ridge. He was an avid fisherman and spent many hours on the lake with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved to hunt quail and was a baseball enthusiast. He was dedicated above all to his family and was always happiest when surrounded by them.
