William Russell Conger

William Russell Conger died Wednesday, October 12, 2016. Born on September 12, 1941 to the late William Laston and Gloria Malpas Conger in Nashville, GA. He is survived by his wife, Anne; daughters, Toni Conger Fraley, and Raylina McCllen both of Florida; sisters, LaFaye Westbrook of Dallas, TX, Linda Grazier and husband, Paul of Denton, TX, and Ivelyn Hensley of Columbus, GA; one grandson, Chase Winston Redner; three nieces who reside in Texas; and several cousins in south Georgia. He grew up in Tifton, GA, and played football while attending high school and remained a football fan throughout his life. He was an avid Georgia DAWG fan until his last few days when he was in such pain. Cancer took over his body like a raging wildfire and destroyed the man who loved life, his family, and being with those he loved. We will all miss him. A small gathering for the family was held at Wages & Sons Funeral Directors, Stone Mountain Chapel. In keeping with his wishes his remains have been cremated. Arrangements were entrusted to Wages & Sons Funeral Directors, Stone Mountain Chapel.
