William Terry Reid, Jr. from Stone Mountain, Georgia, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025, at age 82. He died at his home with his family by his side.
Terry, a restorative dentist, loved his work. His patients often commented on his large selection of holiday ties. His family, daughters, Stacie and Jessicalyn and grandson, Jack, referred to him as "the world-famous Dr. Reid" because wherever they traveled, he ran into patients he knew.
He and Jackie met in their senior year of high school and married after they graduated from the University of Florida.
Terry graduated first in his 1971 class from Emory dental college and served six years in the Air Force during the Vietnam war.
An avid runner, he participated in the Peachtree Road Races from the first one until "everyone got a t-shirt". he ran six marathons, and two triathlons, one of which was the equivalent of the Hawaii Iron Man. The triathlon he ran was in Hyannis Port, Mass. On 1985. Later, he became a bicyclist as a means of remaining healthy. Lately, he played pickleball.
Terry and his grandson, Jack, participated in numerous car shows in and around the Atlanta area. Both won several first-place prizes.
A generous donor for several veterans' groups, he also sponsored scholarships for students in the colleges of Pharmacy and Dentistry at the University of Florida.
He also served as a Foundation Board member at the University of Florida.
