William Alexander Rennie Jr. April 20, 1928 - August 8, 2017 William Alexander Rennie Jr. (Bill), 89, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 18, 2017, in the sanctuary at Snellville United Methodist Church in Snellville, Georgia. The family will receive friends at Wages & Sons Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Georgia, Thursday, August 17, 2017, from 5 to 8 p.m. Bill Rennie was born on April 20, 1928, in Detroit, Michigan. He received his education in Detroit Public Schools, the RCA Institute (NYC), and the Electronic Institute (Detroit). Bill served in the U.S. Army Air Corp (USAAC) from 1946 to 1949. Following his military service, he returned to the Detroit area. On October 25, 1951, Bill married Shirley Mae Scholtz. They started a family (three daughters) and relocated several times before ending up in Lilburn, Georgia. Bill retired in 1992 after 35 years in the computer maintenance business with several companies. Mr. Rennie was preceded in death by his parents, William Alexander and Ada Marie Rennie; his beloved wife, Shirley; his brother, James Charles Rennie (Chuck); his sister, Joanne Marie Bach; and great granddaughter, Sea-Aira Skyler Rose Meeler. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Roger Dean Prock of Newnan, their sons, Jacob D. Prock (Decatur) and Joel D. Prock (Atlanta); daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and William Timothy Palmer of Covington, their son, Jason W. Meeler (Covington), and his children, Josten Dean and Savannah Rose, their son and daughter-in-law, Joshua N. Meeler Sr. and Heather L. Meeler (Carrollton), and their children, Austin David, Joshua Nathan Jr., Zachary Stephen Lee and Zalee Ann, and their son, Timothy Alexander Palmer (Covington); daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Michael Dennis Stephens of Gainesville, Georgia, their daughters, Megan D. Stephens (Augusta) and Jessica D. Stephens (Gainesville). He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Bill was loved and cherished by his family and many friends. He will truly be missed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of William Alexander Rennie Jr. (Bill) to Snellville United Methodist Church in Snellville, Georgia or to your favorite charity.
