William Earl Shepard

February 12, 1951 — October 3, 2019

William Earl Shephard affectionately known to many as “Bill” or “Pookie” quietly slipped out of his earthly house on Thursday, October 3, 2019. He is a Veteran that served his country in the United States Army. He was a family man and loved his family with his whole heart. He leaves to cherish his memory, a wife of 39 years, Mary Wooten Shephard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cary Warren Shephard and Elizabeth Simms Shephard; his oldest sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth Ann Mason and James "Junebug" Mason; a loving brother-in-law, Charlie "Hair" Boyd; and his youngest sister, Judy Elaine Shephard. Surviving are his siblings, brother, Warren Shephard, Jr. (Almond “Pearl”) of Orange, NJ; sisters, Gloria Jean Boyd of Greenville, NC and Marilyn Evon Hines of New Haven, CT; his loving sister in law, Christine Wooten Mobley and brother- in-law, Andre Wooten, both of Greenville, NC He also leaves to cherish his love and memory with 25 nieces and nephews; Sharon Oze "Poonie", Valerie Moore “Tootsie", Diane Berg (Matt), Abby Mason, Patricia Hill, Vicky Shephard, Wanda Shephard, Tammy Cullins, Greg Shephard, Elizabeth “Ruth” Ward (Steven), Terry Anderson, Jr. (Geejay), Lynnette Hines, Nina "Faye" Shephard| David Shephard, Jr., Antonio Shephard, Betty "Niecy" Marshall, Thomas Marshall, Demetrius Marshall, Cristina Mobley-Dale, Jeffery Mobley and Lee Bolden. He also leaves 26 Great nieces and nephews, 27 great- great nieces & nephews and one great great-great nephew. And two special friends, George “PoBoy” Miller and Charlie Reddick, both of Greenville, NC.
