COOK,
Wister Cook born January 27, 1934, of Atlanta, died at home Wednesday, January 13, 2016 after a brief illness. A native of Ashford, Alabama she was an alumna of Judson College where she studied music and literature. Wister earned a masters degree from the University of Arkansas and a PhD from Auburn University. She taught English at Georgia Tech for over thirty years. Wister loved literature, art, music, and travel. Generous in spirit, Wister was active in her church and it’s outreach programs. Her generosity extended to local charities as well.
Wister is survived by her loving husband, David Criner of Atlanta, stepchildren, a step-grandchild, and two step-great grandchildren. She had many close and dear cousins. She will be sorely missed by her relatives, her former colleagues of Georgia Tech, and her friends.
