Patricia “Pat” Mielke
Patricia Louise Mielke, age 90 a loving friend, teacher, mother, and grandmother gained her wings on July 20, 2020. She passed peacefully away at her home in Stone Mountain Ga surrounded by family. Pat was born in Pittsburg Pa. on November 30, 1929, where she spent most of her early life. She moved to Minneapolis Minnesota where she received her BS degree in education from the University of Minnesota. As an elementary school teacher, she loved to watch her students grow and learn. She was loved so much by them they kept in touch with her through the years and granted her with the “Teacher of the century from the class of 57”. Pat devoted her life to her husband John K. Mielke who she met on a blind date and married in 1957. They moved to Stone mountain Ga in 67 where she became a faithful member of St. Michaels and all Angels Church. Pat was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was known for her cooking/ baking, loved to entertain, travel to the beach, read novels, collect angels and she loved decorating for the holidays. Her greatest love was being surrounded by her husband, children, friends and spoiling her grandchildren. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her husband John, 3 children Matthew, Mitchell, and Sara. Her legacy continues through with her 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Pat was preceded in her death by her parents, Charles H. and Barbara M. Price Johnston and siblings Clark Johnston, Betty Lubken, Barbara Newsome, and Sally Johnston.

  3. Both John and Pat were among my favorite patients. I was their Dental Hygienist at Dr. Gary Heller’s office in Tucker. Their son-in-law, later ex-son-in-law worked with my husband years before so that gave us a connection. They were one of the sweetest couples I’ve ever known. They cared about each other so much. John and I many deep conversations and became friends on Facebook. Pat and I talked about our children and her grandchildren. She had a special relationship with her granddaughter who lived locally and last we talked she had started college in Alabama. I miss the relationships I had with many of my patients and John and Pat were on the top of that list. Now they are with God and with each other.
