To know our mother is to know that she was an angel sent to us by our Creator.
Mommy only read the Bible, she believed that was the one book that really mattered and we ever needed for guidance, hope or any questions answered.
Mommy believed, as we do, that the Bible is “The Word of God Living and Active.”
Mommy was a beautiful light in all of this chaos and was a living example of how Jesus lived his life on earth.
Mommy raised all her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and a plethora of anyone blessed to know her. She was a light to all of us. She showed kindness and helped anyone in need. She worked hard and loved everyone. Mommy, not only expected these things, she demanded it and wanted all of us to be the best at whatever path we chose.
Mommy’s words and the life she led guided us in the past, the present and will continue in all of our lives for the future.
I’m sure everyone has read the Bible and in specific the Book of Proverbs, Chapter 31:10 – 31. If you haven’t, I urge you to do so.
I am going to paraphrase a few verses because they are true and are the living word that speaks eloquently and say it better than I ever could.
Wife of Noble Character
Proverbs 31:10 – 31 “She is worth more than rubies”…and yes she was. Then it goes on to say,
“Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing in value. She brings him good, no harm, and all the days of her life.
She gets up while it is still dark and provides food for her husband and children. She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.
She is clothed in fine linens and purple. She is clothed in strength and dignity.
She speaks with wisdom and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
Her children and husband arise and call her blessed and we praise and honor her.
Many women do noble things, but in our eyes our memory surpasses them all.”
Mommy was given the reward she earned and deserved.
In closing, she was passionate about life and wanted her children, any and every one to honor and love Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior; pray in good and bad because He wants to hear from you; to be the best person and do your best in whatever you do in life and profession. Smile everyday no matter what and “Vivis tu Vida” because you only have one life.
Mommy is, was and will always be our guardian angel. Our Mommy is and was everything beautiful inside and out.
I’ll go back to the second sentence, which say, she is more precious than rubies…and that she was.
We love you mommy and will miss you deeply.
Yolanda is survived by five children: Linda Moten, Yolanda Marrero, Carlos Marrero, Marie E. Jacobs Donham, Ricardo Jacobs; 11 grandchildren, 10 greatgrandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, sister, cousins and many more that called her mom.
