Born in: South Carolina
Resided in: Georgia

Roberta Bryan, affectionately known as “Maw Maw,” peacefully passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023. Born in Lexington County, South Carolina. Roberta’s life was a testament to love, faith, and joy.

Roberta took great joy in being the loving mother of three children: Cynthia Ford, Scott Bryan, and Kevin Bryan. Her role as a grandmother brought immeasurable happiness, and she leaves behind a legacy of love for her grandchildren: Eric Ford, Kristin Welshanns, Lauren Bryan, Davis Bryan, Oliva Bryan, and Julia Bryan. Although Jason Ford preceded her in death, his memory lived on in her heart.

Her beloved husband, Errol Bryan, preceded her in death. Together, in life, they created a family legacy that will endure through generations.

Roberta’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. A devout Christian, she made it a nightly ritual to pray with her children, instilling in them the importance of faith, love, and togetherness. Her favorite Bible verse, Psalm 51:10-12, reflected her desire for a pure heart and a steadfast spirit.

Known for her selflessness and loving nature, Roberta had a heart that overflowed with kindness. In addition to her own children and grandchildren, many others felt the warmth of Roberta’s love and guidance. Countless individuals outside her immediate family considered her a second mother, a testament to her nurturing spirit and the impact she had on those fortunate enough to know her.

Roberta was also a beloved sister. Dorothy Strickland survives her, cherishing the memories of their shared experiences. Sadly, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Miriam Kirkpatrick and Eldred Amick.

Music and dance were sources of great joy for Roberta. Even as dementia began to take its toll, the sound of music would spark a radiant smile on her face, and she would dance with the same grace and enthusiasm that defined her spirit.

A memorial service to celebrate Roberta’s life will be held on Thursday, December 28th, at First United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville. The viewing will begin at 11 am, followed by a service at 1 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Grace Arbor in her honor.

May Roberta Bryan rest in peace, and may her family find solace in the beautiful memories they shared. Her legacy of faith, kindness, and joy will continue to inspire those privileged to have known her.
