Neil Zion Muli, beloved son, brother, grandson, and friend, passed away on April 24, 2025, at the age of 20, as a resident of Lawrenceville, Georgia. Born in Angeles City, Philippines, on November 19, 2004, Neil brought light, energy, and kindness to all who knew him.
A 2023 graduate of Dacula High School, Neil attended schools throughout Gwinnett County. He had a passion for skateboarding, gaming, and cooking, and he especially loved spending time with his family, friends, and his two dogs, Jimmy and Mia.
Neil was known for his generous heart, quick wit, and kind nature. His younger brother lovingly described him as “very generous, energetic, and intelligent.” These qualities shone through in everything he did, leaving a lasting impression on all who were fortunate to know him.
He is preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Ricardo Soberano, his great-aunt Julieta Soberano, and great-uncle Rodrigo Soberano . He is survived by his loving mother, Jaymie Phaneuf, father, Gregory Phaneuf, grandmother Lolita Soberano, great-grandmother Consuela Aguilar, grandfather Eugene Phaneuf, grandmother Mary Phaneuf, and brothers Nathan Muli and Zachary Phaneuf—all of whom adored him deeply.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Wages and Sons Gwinnett Chapel, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy., Lawrenceville, GA 30046, with a service to follow at 3:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Neil’s memory.
Neil will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and the deep love he shared with everyone around him. His absence leaves a hole in the hearts of many, but his memory will live on in the lives he touched.
