Jerald Patrick Kane Jr., known to friends and family as Patrick, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2025, at the age of 61. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on September 8, 1963, Patrick was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and dedicated professional who made a lasting impact on all who knew him.

A resident of Statham, Georgia, Patrick pursued his passion for education and special education by earning a Specialist degree in School Psychology from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond in 1995. He went on to serve as a School Psychologist with Gwinnett County Public Schools, working in Special Education and Psychological Services. His career was marked by compassion, commitment, and a deep belief in the potential of every student he encountered.

Patrick was preceded in death by his loving parents, Jerald “Jerry” Kane Sr. and Anne Marie “Nancy” Kane. He is survived by his devoted children, Katie (Ray) Smith of Bogart, Georgia, and Christopher (Allison) Kane of Roswell, Georgia. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Abigail and Donovan Smith, and Charles, Henry, and Whitaker Kane. Patrick also leaves behind his cherished siblings: Kathleen Clark of Roswell, Georgia; Peggy (Wes) Humphreys of Knoxville, Tennessee; and Timothy Kane of Libertyville, Illinois.

Patrick will be remembered for his warm heart, sharp wit, and unwavering support of those he loved. His legacy lives on through his family, his work, and the many lives he touched.
A service will be held to honor Patrick’s life on May 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Wages and Sons Funeral Home in Lawrenceville Ga. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Trinity Community Ministries.
