David Harold Ray

david ray

May 8, 1958 ~ May 25, 2025

Born in: Montgomery, Alabama
Resided in: Duluth, Georgia

David Ray, a man of wisdom, warmth, and quiet strength, passed away too soon at the
age of 67. With his presence alone, David had a way of drawing people in—whether
through easy conversation over a glass of wine or shared laughter with friends on the
porch, often with a cigar in hand. He lived fully and generously, traveling the world with
his beloved wife, Carol, savoring new experiences and honoring the deep roots of his
cherished Scottish heritage.

David was a proud and devoted father to five children—Jerritt, Calli, Matthew, Weston,
and Travis—who adored him and will carry his legacy in the ways they live and love. He
showed up for people—not only as a companion in life’s joys and struggles but as a
steady presence and source of guidance for all who knew him. He was also a loving
grandfather to Jackson, Sofia, Liam, Harvey, Shepherd, William, and Parker, each of
whom brought him endless pride and joy.

David was proceeded in death by his parents Travis and Doris Ray as well as his sister
Ginger Ray. He is survived with deep love by his wife Carol, his children and
grandchildren, brother Randy and a wide circle of friends who treasured his generosity,
humor, and the quiet grace with which he moved through the world. David was more
than a father and friend—he was a source of light in the lives of many. His presence will
be missed profoundly, but his spirit remains alive in the hearts and stories of those he
touched.

Our prayers are with all of Davids family and friends. We will miss you, your Scottish friend and business associate Craig & Tammy Combe

  25. CandleImageI felt I got to know David a lot more during our business trip to Turkey last year in 2024. I got the sense of his jovial nature, strong work ethic, very knowledgeable, and extremely easy to get along with. I also had the pleasure to meet Carol on that trip who made me feel welcome. My deepest condolences to the Ray family.

  26. CandleImageDavid has been always mentoring and offering helps whenever I needed, Especially recent years. My deepest condolences.

  27. CandleImageMy deepest condolence’s to David’s family. I heard much about David through my partner David. He was a great boss, friend and mentor and they enjoyed many memorable business trips together. I had the pleasure of working for David for three years and he was such a true gentleman. He treated me with respect and kindness. He always saw the positive in a really hard industry. He took on so much stress as a leader with such grace and he was a great dresser on all occasions. So sad that a truly great guy was taken far too soon. I can only imagine how much his family misses him.

    All my sympathy. Claire

  28. CandleImageStill struggling to come to the realization David is gone. David was a colleague for over 25 years but in the last 7-8 years he was not only a mentor but a friend. Every year I looked forward to our California trips. Great times, great golf rounds, great conversation. To his family you all know what a kind generous man he was and that extended to everyone in his life. My deepest condolences to you all and his memory will never be forgotten and he will be forever missed.
