Born in:
Bhadran, India
Resided in:
Dunwoody, Georgia
Chandrashekhar Kashibhai Patel, 80, passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 23, 2025 at home in
Dunwoody, Georgia, USA. Shekhar was born on December 24, 1944 in Navsari, Gujarat, India to
Surajben and Kashibhai. He was the youngest of 8 siblings and did not get a chance to know his
father as he passed away when he was two. His mother raised him in Bhadran until he left for Bombay
College. Upon completion of college, he wanted to pursue his dream of creating a life for himself
and his future family in the United States. He moved to the US in the 60’s and continued his
education at the University of Alabama getting his Masters in Chemistry.
He worked for a few years, married Rashmi and had two wonderful boys, Rubin and Rusi. He created
several businesses and provided for them all. He enjoyed gardening, reading, and learning new
things but most of all he enjoyed being with family and friends. He was a wonderful man with a very
generous heart. In spite of difficulties he faced in his life, he always had time for others and
kept his relations with everyone in the family.
He came to the US with no capital and only his education and own determination and managed to
create a marvelous life for his family. That is the American Dream from a young boy from Bhadran.
He practiced the values of Narsi Mehta’s Vaishnava Jana To.
In Lieu of Flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Shekhar’s name to the American Kidney

We pray and sing his mother’s favorite hymn which we share with you in prayer, for peace in his

We had a very short but sweet memories with Shekharbhai thru his old friend Pankaj Shah from Mumbai. When I met him first time last year, he was so knowledgeable and really warm by heart. Talked on various topics including Mwanza in Tanzania where we had spent considerable time. We also had plans to meet next month during our housewarming in Alphrata but Almighty had different plans
May we pray God to rest his soul in eternal peace

The Pioneer of Surajba’s generous and strong family tree ! The warmth and care you poured in to keep the family grounded and bounded together will always be remembered… The memory of us meeting in Baroda last year will be cherished for lifetime as the one last happy memory with you..
May your rest in peace. Prayers 🙏
Blessed and grateful to have shared many happy memories, particularly remember trying to convince me to support Atlanta Braves. Always listened to others. May his soul rest in peace 🙏
Those in whose hearts OM reverberates
Unceasingly are indeed blessed
And deeply loved as one who is the Self.
The all-knowing Self was never born,
Nor will it die. Beyond cause and effect,
This Self is eternal and immutable.
When the body dies, the Self does not die.
(Katha Upanishad)
Shekhar kaka I will remember you as very caring and considerate uncle who always called me to find out how my family and I were doing. Your compassion and concern particularly when I lost my parents meant a lot to me. I fondly remember how very patient you were when you took me for a short holiday to Mombasa to visit our family many many years ago. I was probably the worst person to travel with as I kept sobbing on holiday as I missed my mum but your tolerance and love was amazing ! You continued to make the holiday special for me.
I will truly miss our phone calls and the history lessons on Bhadran and of the family home that you so fondly shared.
Shekharkaka rest in peace, you will be solely missed 🙏
No words can express how sorry I am for loss of Shekharbhai. He was amazing person with beautiful and caring heart for everyone that he came across. His loving memories will give the family strength to bear this loss and I pray for peace for everyone in the family. 🕉 shanti shanti shanti
Hopefully God gives you strength to pass through this difficult time
You are in my prayers
