Harold Lee Swope was born in Broad Top Township, Bedford County, Pennsylvania on May 2, 1937 to Chester and Cora Mae (Noel) Swope
A loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, Harold Swope 88 years of age exchanged his earthly life to live an eternal life with his Heavenly Father on Friday, July 4, 2025.
Harold had a deep passion for service and poured his life into people. He exemplified a beautiful servant’s heart. He lived the words of the old gospel song that included the lyrics “.if I can help somebody along the way, then my living shall not be in vain.” Whether in need of muscle for labor, a ride, an ear to listen, help to navigate an area of life by sharing his wisdom and knowledge or just the embrace of a hug, you could count on him to supply that need. Some words that could be used to describe him would be love, honor, courage, compassion, integrity, generosity and grace. What a legacy!
Harold is survived by his wife of 25 years Diantha “D” Swope of Stone
Mountain, Georgia. Daughters: Melissa Lopez and Lisa McClain of Stone
Mountain, and Angel Dunn of Augusta, Georgia.
