With heavy hearts, the family of Jane Nettles announces her passing on July 14, 2025, at the age of 76. A resident of Gwinnett County, Georgia, Jane was born on June 14, 1949, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and lived a life marked by compassion, resilience, and deep love for her family.

Jane was a proud graduate of Rabun Gap High School in Rabun, Georgia, and later earned her nursing degree from Broward College in Fort Lauderdale. She dedicated her career to caring for others as a registered nurse, a calling that reflected her kind and selfless spirit. Although her work as a nurse was cut short in the late 1990s due to a chordoma brain tumor, she remained a source of strength and inspiration to those around her. When she was first diagnosed, she was told she would not live to see the year 2000—but she defied those odds for decades, continuing to love, nurture, and bring joy to her family.

Jane’s greatest happiness came from spending time with her loved ones—especially her grandchildren, Brandt and Hannah Morris, who were the lights of her life. She adored being a grandmother and later, a great-grandmother, creating cherished memories filled with laughter, warmth, and care. Her family always felt deeply loved, thankful, and safe in her presence.

The loss of her only child, Jeffrey Morris, in 2012 to a sudden brain aneurysm was a heartbreak that never left her. Their bond was unbreakable, and the love they shared remains a powerful part of her story. While her family mourns her absence, they find comfort knowing that she is now pain-free and reunited with her beloved parents, her twin sister, and her son.

Jane is preceded in death by her parents, Frances and Irvin Nettles; her twin sister, Jean Brown; and her son, Jeffrey Morris.

She is survived by her cherished grandchildren: Hannah Morris (Rocky Russell) and Brandt Morris (Hannah Stump); great-grandchildren: Rocky Russell, Jr., Josiah Morris, and Malachi Stump; and her older sister, Joy Smith. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will never forget her unwavering love and strength.

A celebration of Jane’s life will be held at a later date at:
