Al Sandra Smith Freeman
Born June 28, 1933
Departed October 21, 2025
Raised in Orrville, Alabama, Al Sandra attended Auburn University and completed Nursing School at Emory University where she met and married her husband, Malcolm Godsey Freeman, who adored her throughout their half century of marriage.
Sandy Freeman was fighter for civil rights, including the Cesar Chavez United Farm Workers movement using non-violent protests and boycotts to improve the lives of agricultural laborers.
Sandy dearly loved animals, nature, her special horses, dogs and cats. Despite being a consummate lady, she could also make a sailor blush with her colorful language and slam cabinet doors like nobody’s business.
She leaves behind a legacy of three children: Patrick (Jeanne) Kimberley, Becky Morelli (Ron) along with grandchildren, Daniel, Sarah, Jonathan, and Jobee; Michael and Max; and great grandchildren, Marlow, Maddox, Maren, Malcolm and Paisley.
Sandra Freeman was a paragon of strength, fortitude, dedication, and love. She was dearly loved by many and will be missed by all.
