Obituary for Cassandra Lynette Jackson
Sunrise: January 26, 1958 Sunset: July 19, 2025
Cassandra Lynette Jackson, affectionately known as Sandy or Sandra, was born on January 26, 1958, in Bainbridge, Georgia, and peacefully entered eternal rest on July 19, 2025, in Suwanee, Georgia, where she was a cherished resident.
A woman of unwavering faith and deep compassion, Cassandra lived a life defined by her love for God, her family, and her community. She was a proud Christian and ordained, licensed clergy for over 25 years. She graduated from Interdenominational Ministries International Bible College in 1994 and later earned her degree from Northwestern State University in 2011.
Cassandra served her country honorably as a Staff Sergeant E-6 in the United States Army. After her military service, she continued her commitment to public service as a Project Office Assistant with the Army Corps of Engineers. Her heart for others led her to become the Founder of Exousia Safe Family Shelter, where she poured her energy into creating a haven for those in need.
As a member of Cross Church, Cassandra’s ministry and daily life were reflections of her calling. Her faith was not just something she preached—it was something she lived, deeply and consistently. Her greatest joy was sharing the word of God and demonstrating His love to everyone she encountered.
Cassandra had a creative and nurturing spirit. She found peace and joy in her many hobbies, which included writing, painting, drawing, sewing, crocheting, and studying the Word of God. Her home was always a place of beauty, reflection, and love.
She was, above all, a wonderful mother, and a loving grandmother. Family was always her priority. She loved each and every one of her family members more than she loved herself. Her sacrifices, prayers, and wisdom laid a foundation for generations to come. She spoke of her five beloved grandchildren every single day and devoted her final years to imparting wisdom and faith into their lives. They were her heart, her joy, and her legacy.
Cassandra is survived by her beloved daughter Corina Cook, daughter Dionna Pena, Son-in law Edward Tito Pena, grandson Christopher Cook, granddaughters Cayla Cook, Komikko Barkley, Tatiana Pena, Mariah Pena, sisters Laverne Turner and Tynese Turner, and brother Benard Wade.
She leaves behind a grateful and loving family who will cherish her memory and continue to live out her values: five grandchildren, extended family, friends, church family, and all those whose lives she touched with her grace, strength, and kindness.

Sandy and I met over 20 years ago when we worked together at a law firm in Chicago. Over the years, even after she moved back to Georgia, our bond never wavered. The strength of her discerning character left an indelible impression on my life. Sandy’s presence and spirit were powerful, while at the same time, grounded in humility. ✨️ All who met and interacted with her rarely could forget the impact Sandy had on their lives. I will be eternally grateful for the blessing of our sister/friend relationship. Sending prayers, hugs and much love to Corina, Dionna and the entire Sandy Jackson family. May your precious memories of the spirit, light and life of this awesome, gifted woman of God give you comfort and peace. ❤️🫶🏾
Cross Atlanta Virtual Life Group will greatly miss you.
Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.’ ”
She was a valued colleague and a genuinely good person who will be greatly missed. My thoughts are with her family, friends, and all who had the honor of knowing her.
May her assignment that GOD has for her now as she is accepted into the Kingdom for everlasting rest be embraced for a job well done! Rest easy sis!
