Cindy was born on March 12, 1956 in Chicago, Illinois to Clement and Ina Faye (Jackson) Tatton. Cindy spent her childhood and school-age years in LaGrange, Illinois. She graduated from Lyons Township High School. In her free time, she loved to travel, garden, craft and enjoy music.

Cindy worked in the banking industry for many years and served as a substitute teacher but her passion was for her family and friends.

Cindy’s love transformed the lives of everyone she encountered. She brought a bounty of beauty to everything she did…with her party hosting abilities, warm smile and limitless love for people and animals. She had a remarkable ability to connect with people, share herself and evoke that same spirit of love in each person she knew.

Her surviving extended family includes her brother, Terry Tatton (Dottie) of Reddick, IL; sisters, Sharon Gustafson of Kissimmee, FL and Sally (Juhlin) Hoffman (Steve) of Ft. Myers, FL; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Rick and Debie (Forbes) Mikel of Chattanooga, TN, Rick and Jamie (Forbes) Dell of Chattanooga, TN, Dean Forbes of FL; nephews, Ron Frazier, Jr. of St. Joe, MI, Jeremy Dell (Emily) of Chattanooga, TN, Cameron Dell (Casey) of Chattanooga, TN; nieces, Kimmie (Gustafson) Wagner (Marco), Karen Gustafson, Sherry (Frazier) Logan (Jeff) of Kissimmee, FL, Angela (Mikel) Eiseman (Sam) of Nashville, TN and Margaret (Dell) Summersell (Garrison) of Chattanooga, TN; and numerous great nephews, great nieces, cousins and other special “family” members.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, November 19 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. A Celebration of Cindy’s Life will be held at a later date.

  1. Cindy —
It has been a privilege and a pleasure knowing you for more than 50 years! I will always remember your love and your laughter! You are one of a kind and you will be loved and remembered forever.

  2. CandleImageWe loved Cindy! Thinking of all the times we planned parties, decorating, being servants to our pets and singing karaoke. Oh and getting locked out of our homes. We could always count on each other. The absolute best neighbor and an even better friend. Love ya lady! Love and hugs to Mark, Tommy, Michael, Pondi and all her family and friends who were lucky enough to be touched by Cindy’s bright light.

  3. CandleImageCindy was the sweetest most genuine human being . She always greeted me on my walks and I loved seeing her walk her pups . My kids thought the world of her and enjoyed the opportunity to help her by pet sitting . Oh lady, how you will be missed .

  4. Please accept our condolences at the loss of Cindy. I came to know Cindy when I joined the Callanwolde Concert Band in 2016 and soon learned she was a strong supporter of music and the band. She was a wonderful and delightful woman with a great smile and a sweet demeanor. As a “fellow band wife,” Carol and Cindy enjoyed many wonderful conversations at band events. We all will dearly miss Cindy.

Mark and family, you will remain in our prayers and thoughts, as all grieve her loss.

    Sincerely,

       Glenn (and Carol)

  5. CandleImageIt was an honor and a blessing to know Cindy Forbes. She along with her family helped guide me as I grew up. I am forever grateful.

  6. CandleImageMom – I sure am missing our daily cell phone conversations after work where we planned our next round of weekend fun, vacations, and chatting about whatever else was going on in the world. I love you and miss you so much.
    -Mike

    • CandleImageIm so sorry for your loss, I send you a big hug filled with faith. May God grant you relief knowing that she rests in peace.

      Regards,
      Chabela

  7. CandleImageWe met Cindy about 1970 – over 50 years ago, she was my brother’s girlfriend, a beautiful teenage girl with long wavy hair & a beautiful smile. Little did we know at that time that she would become a beautiful part of our family. She touched each one of us with her love, kindness and listening ear and I can hear her words to me – “Debie just calm down” – so I guess when I need a listing ear I’ll just remember her words from heaven.
She loved Mark so much and made his life complete with her love. If any of you who know Mark – who else could keep up with his misplaced keys or wallet – that takes a special woman.
When Tom & Mike arrived to add to our family she was overjoyed and full of love but when those grandchildren arrived to add to our family, Katelyn, Madison, Nick and Mikey – she was over the top with her love & happiness for them!
She made every holiday, birthday celebration and any other time to celebrate a memorable happy occasion – she even had a very festive Trump inauguration party after the 2016 election – decorations & colored red, white & blue lights everywhere.
Once she got sick – we can all look back to see what she taught us about courage to keep going – no matter how hard and painful it was because she wanted to keep giving of herself and her love to her family as she always did. She left us all with a beautiful gift of herself and the happy memories we all shared with her.

  8. Cindy was such a lovely person and will be missed. We will always remember her beautiful voice at family holiday parties. We enjoyed being with Cindy, Mark, and their family.
    Fondly,
    Eileen & Jim Cermak

  9. CandleImageCindy will be so missed. Her welcoming smile and infectious laugh remain in our hearts. We were blessed to know her.
Our thoughts and prayers (and loving hugs) are with her family.

    Kind regards,

  10. CandleImageCindy was an aboslute gem — such a wonderful personality and so special to spend time with. We remember many fun holidays together all the way back to the Forbes house in LaGrange, and more recently in Altanta. She had a tremendous zest for life and deep love for her family. Our hearts go out to Mark, Tommy, Michael-Pondi & the grandkids. Sending love to you all-Susie & Pete

  11. I met Cindy when she was 5yrs.old. She would come and spend weekends quite a bit with her Uncle Art. We played alot of “school” in Uncle Art’s kitchen. Cindy became my sister I didn’t have. Even though there was 7yr. difference in age, we were best friends. She was one of my bridesmaids when Steve and I got married. We both raised are families and continued our love and friendship for over fifty some years. I have been blessed to have Cindy in my life. She has always been a person you can count on. She was very compassionate and loving to everyone. She touched so many peoples lives.

  12. CandleImageMy dear friend, Cindy,
My friend since 1965. We were in 4th grade. So many memories, so many secrets & the best so many laughs! Always kind, honest and keeping sunny outlook on every situation. A smile that brighten every room. Her bobbing head constantly keeping with the beat of the music especially when that cute, tall, guitar player was strumming along. The memories are embedded onto my heart.
