October 22, 1963 ~ July 18, 2025

Born in: Miami, Florida
Resided in: Lawrenceville, Georgia

Kimberly Anne Vance, 61, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, passed peacefully at home on July 18, 2025, two months after an abrupt cancer diagnosis. Born on October 22, 1963, in Miami, Florida, Kim was a force of nature, a whirlwind of brightness, laughter, and love. Even in her final months—as she gave every drop of her spirit to fight an unfightable disease—she poured herself out to others.

Kim’s life was defined by giving. As a devoted member and elder’s wife at Cornerstone Church, she committed herself to service ministry, whether in mentorship to young women, raising guide dogs for the blind, or in offering pet therapy to victims of domestic violence. Kim was a mentor, a confidant, and the truest of friends. Her card-sending talent was legendary. If you knew Kim, you likely have a handwritten note tucked away somewhere—a small reminder of her unwavering loyalty.

Nowhere was Kim’s calling more felt than in her passion for children. For decades, she supported Operation Christmas Child, personally packing over 5,000 shoeboxes with gifts for families in need. Through the Open Door agency, she opened her home to foster over 40 infants as they navigated the journey to their forever families. She was a Court Appointed Special Advocate for neglected children. And she was a fierce supporter of orphans, both as an adoptive mother and a lifelong volunteer with Hope for Children.

Kim is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Ronald Vance; their children Hunter Vance, Taylor Phillips, Madison Vance, and Morgan Vance; grandchildren Parker, Connor, and Emerson; her father Bruce Wilson; and her brother Kevin Wilson. Though she now joins her mother, Arleen Woofter, in everlasting peace, she remains, and always will be, the heart of her family.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 4–7 p.m. at Wages & Sons Funeral Home, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy, Lawrenceville, GA 30046. A memorial service will follow on Sunday, July 27 at 2 p.m. at the same location. In lieu of flowers, please bring a new toy to be donated to the Hands of Christ Duluth Co-Op, continuing Kim’s legacy of joy through service.

  1. I am so deeply sorry to hear of Kim’s passing ! She was a great person and mother ❤️

  2. CandleImageDear Ron, children and Kevin. Our family is mourning with you during this time. I am crushed and saddened. There are so many wonderful memories of Kim that I will remember: her love for all of you, her love for those in need, her love for God, the many shoe boxes that she put together over the years to give to children in need, her love and kindness to the needy, peanut butter & apples, traveling to Disney with our kids, how she wasn’t afraid of roller coasters, celebrating her birthdays, going to the theatre, dinners together, her love for dogs, her unconditional friendship being by my side to comfort me when I was at the hospital💓…Rene G

  3. My heart cries for Ron and the whole family. Kim’s faith and service give plenty of hope that she is alive and only passing from this world to the real world with the father. Hope springs eternal💔❤️‍🩹❤️🙏

  4. CandleImageMy heart is broken over the news of her passing. We usually run into one another at the Publix near our home. I was just thinking of her a few days ago. I noticed I haven’t seen her in a while, causing me to smile to myself- thinking, “she must be out somewhere serving others.” Because she was truly know for that. Rest well Kim.

  5. CandleImageKim was a friend of my cousin but her calling to serve people prompted me to light a candle for her. It takes a special person to be a light in the dark.

  6. You will truly be missed. Sending prayers of encouragement and comfort to the family.

  7. CandleImageDear Ron and Kevin,
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Kimberly. She was far too young, and I can only imagine the profound grief you must be feeling right now.
    My deepest condolences, Cynthia
