Marie Pruitt Williams, age 91 of Lawrenceville, GA, passed away June 9, 2015. She was born in Cumming GA and Marie retired from The Atlanta Journal and Constitution. She was preceded in death by her parents; Truman Edgar and Amanda Harris Pruitt, sister; Ruth Pruitt Floyd; brother; Brantley Pruitt; She leaves behind her son, Ben Williams and his wife Cathy and their children; Matthew Cochran, Kenneth Cochran and Brandy Cochran Cox; grandchildren; Trenton Harris, Evan Mobley, Destiney Cox, Zachary Cochran, Kamnryn Cox, Landen Cochran, Lance Cochran, and Aubrey Cox; her daughter, Delane Williams Melton and her husband, Ernest; her Grandson, Brent Williams and his two sons, Bryce and Eli; her Grandson, John Melton and his wife Wendy and their son, Chris Melton, and their daughters Brianne Melton and Saige Fetters; her Grandson, Derrell Melton and his wife Patricia and their son, Matthew Melton. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and their families. A Graveside Service will be held at Gwinnett Memorial Park on Friday, June 12, 2015 at 2:30 P.M. with Rev. Bill Childers officiating. Family will receive friends on Thursday, June 11, 2015 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Wages and Sons Gwinnett Chapel, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy., Lawrenceville, GA, 770-277-4550.
